Developmental Movement and Bonding Outdoors!

Facilitated by Cara Angela Liguori, MHC-LP, PMH-C, IDME (Infant Developmental Movement Educator)

This is a hands-on learning space where caregivers can:

  • Explore and learn about their babies movement

  • Practice new handling and support skills in real time

  • Ask questions and receive guidance regarding baby development

  • Deepen bonding through movement and mindful interactions

  • Gain confidence in early parenting skills

  • Confront anxieties regarding developmental milestones

In this group we utilize the connection with our babies as a vehicle for building mindfulness, relational and parenting skills, and sense of parental efficacy. We will provide clean, baby-safe props to support exploration and play.

We’ll Explore:

The Building Blocks of Bonding

• Developmental movement
• Infant handling skills
• Mindful observation skills for caregivers (what’s this like from my baby’s perspective?)
• Parent–infant attunement
• Sensory exploration

Through guided experiential learning, you’ll practice ways to support your baby’s development while strengthening your connection. We’ll make space for your questions and target each participating babies’ specific needs. Babies are always welcome exactly as they are. Crying, feeding, diaper changes, spit-up, and pauses for comfort and soothing are all part of the experience. There is no “right” way for a baby to participate, and these moments often offer valuable opportunities to understand their development.

This group is a breast/chest-feeding friendly environment.

The early relationship between infants and their caregivers lays the groundwork for the child’s ability to form secure attachments in the future, impacting their emotional, [cognitive], and behavioral health. (Sroufe, 2005).
