Know the System, Change the System: A Micro-to-Macro Approach to Advocacy, Voting, and Healing
One of the cornerstones of social work and our work at HHP is advocacy. Now, more than ever, it is crucial to feel empowered and active to shape the policies that govern us.
We are proud to announce that we have partnered with Professor Jessica J. Mitchell, LMSW, MA to bring you a series of short, monthly videos all about the importance of local elections, how they impact you and what you can do to be proactive and informed
This series demystifies local elections and empowers mental health professionals and community members to engage with the political process. Topics include how elections work, voter registration basics, and the often-overlooked roles of county and town officials. With a focus on Nassau County and long island, the series explores the impact of local government, and the importance of informed participation. .

We know mothers are overburdened and we hear every day from our clients how the mental load is overwhelming...so we decided to do something about it! In honor of Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month, we created the #SharetheMotherload challenge to spread awareness and raise money for maternal mental health. We invite you to join the challenge and get the word out!
