Michelle Golyan-Moghanian is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern in the final year of her Master’s program at St. John’s University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Fine Arts. Michelle is a licensed pharmacy technician with over eight years of experience, bringing a well-rounded understanding of both mental and physical health into the therapeutic space.
Michelle approaches therapy through a humanistic lens, emphasizing empathy, authenticity, and the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship. She integrates Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients explore and process complex emotions, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to address thought and behavior patterns that may be contributing to distress. She tailors her approach to fit each client’s unique needs and strengths.
As a first-generation immigrant, Michelle brings a multicultural perspective to her work and is deeply attuned to the ways culture, identity, and lived experience shape each individual’s mental health journey. She is passionate about creating a space that honors clients’ cultural values and intersectional identities. Michelle also enjoys incorporating creative outlets into the therapeutic process, helping clients access insight and healing through self-expression.
Michelle looks forward to enhancing her clinical skills at HHP and is expected to graduate in May 2026.
Michelle is supervised by Dr. Nouna Jalilzadeh, PhD LMHC-D, LPC, NCC, PMH-C.
