My name is Afeefa Ahmad and I am currently in my third year of my Master’s in Social Work program at Columbia University.
From the very beginning of my training, I have been dedicated to creating safe, compassionate spaces where people can share their stories and feel less alone in this world. I believe that therapy is not only a place where healing happens, but it’s also a place where individuals can begin new chapters in their lives.
I bring extensive experience in crisis intervention through my work with the National Sexual Assault Hotline and Crisis Text Line. In these roles, I had the privilege of supporting individuals during some of their most difficult moments and advocating for them as they began to heal and grow from crisis and trauma. These experiences continue to shape my approach to therapy, which is rooted in warmth, compassion, curiosity, and respect for every person who I encounter.
My goal is to meet people where they are, help them make sense of their experiences, and to walk alongside them, as they embrace new beginnings. Above all, I hope that therapy is a place where you don’t have to carry everything on your own, where you can breathe a little easier, and where your story matters.
