Research shows that parents of children with neurodevelopmental or intellectual disabilities benefit from peer‑support networks through increased sense of belonging, reduced stress, and improved coping skills.

What can I expect from this group?

Participants will :

  • Create a safe and supportive space that honors the experience of special needs parenting

  • Explore the impact of your child's needs on their family and themselves as parents

  • Use aspects of mindfulness, CBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help process the grief associated with special needs parenting

  • Build coping strategies and skills to improve family functioning and communication
