Dina Jalilzadeh is a master’s student in Creative Arts Therapy Counseling at Hofstra University. She completed her practicum at Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC), where she gained clinical experience in an acute inpatient psychiatric setting working with individuals across different age groups. During her practicum, she co-facilitated art therapy sessions designed to support emotional expression, coping, self-exploration, and therapeutic engagement. Dina is particularly interested in exploring how creative expression can foster resilience, self-discovery, and well-being across diverse communities, especially for individuals who may find it difficult to communicate their thoughts, emotions, or experiences through words alone. She believes art therapy can provide a meaningful and accessible space for self-expression, reflection, connection, and personal growth.
As a developing art therapist, Dina strives to create a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences at their own pace. Her clinical interests include emotional wellness, identity and self-exploration, life transitions, mindfulness, resilience, and the use of creative processes to support mental health and well-being. Dina is a student member of the American Art Therapy Association and continues to develop her clinical and creative skills through supervised internship experience as part of her graduate training at Hofstra University. Dina is supervised by Jillian Martino, LCAT.
