Cailey is currently in her third year of the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Hofstra University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Stony Brook University and also holds a master’s degree in Criminal Justice. Her interest in understanding mental health and the experiences that shape people’s lives led her to pursue a career in therapy. She recently completed a 14-hour training in perinatal mental health and looks forward to continuing to expand her knowledge in this area.
As part of her MFT training, Cailey completed a year of supervised clinical work at the Joan and Arnold Saltzman Community Services Center at Hofstra University, where she worked with couples and families in the Hempstead community. She also facilitated a child mindfulness group at the Diane Lindner-Goldberg Child Care Institute and a parenting group at the Family and Children’s Association in Hempstead.
Cailey is especially interested in reproductive mental health and supporting individuals and families during different stages and transitions in their lives. She is drawn to Marriage and Family Therapy because of the opportunity to understand family relationships and the experiences that shape who we are. Her own family experiences have contributed to her interest in this work. She uses a humanistic, person-centered, and solution-focused approach and incorporates principles of Gottman Method Couples Therapy to guide her work with couples.
Cailey enjoys connecting with others and has always been curious about people and their stories. When working with clients, she approaches each person with empathy and curiosity and genuinely tries to understand their experiences and perspectives. She values collaboration and works with clients toward their individual goals. Cailey hopes to create a space where clients feel safe, comfortable, and heard. She wants clients to feel that they can be themselves and that their experiences and perspectives matter. She values being genuine and authentic and believes therapy can be a positive and supportive place to explore whatever is important to you.
Cailey is supervised by Megan Farina, LCSW, PMH-C, EMDRIA Certified.
