About the event

This course explores the intersection of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and infertility, including how fertility treatment and reproductive uncertainty may interact with obsessive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, and intolerance of uncertainty. The presentation will help clinicians distinguish OCD from normative fertility-related anxiety and distress, recognize common OCD presentations in patients undergoing infertility treatment, and understand evidence-based approaches to assessment and treatment.

Course Objectives:

1. Identify common symptoms and presentations of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) among individuals experiencing infertility.

2. Differentiate OCD symptoms from normative infertility-related anxiety, distress, and treatment-related behaviors.

3. Describe evidence-based approaches for assessing and treating OCD in the context of infertility, including cognitive behavioral therapy and exposure and response prevention (ERP).
