About the event
This training will provide a comprehensive understanding of working with survivors of sexual trauma to restore pleasure and sexual health. Facilitated by Wildflower’s Executive Director, Kate Ernstrom, LCSW, PMH-C, CST the presentation will give practitioners a deeper understanding of the prevalence and impact of sexual trauma on clients’ health and sexual functioning, as well as treatment. Kate will provide an overview of evidence-based treatments, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), among others. Kate will also provide suggestions of specific exercises to strengthen clients’ capacity to trust themselves and others, as well as restore their relationship with sexual pleasure. Upon conclusion of the training, attendees will have a clearer understanding of how to support the sexual healing of survivors of sexual trauma. 1.5 CEUs for social workers, clinical professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and clinical psychologists are offered upon completion.
