About the event

Ariela Frieder, MD is a psychiatrist specializing in perinatal psychiatry and certified in Perinatal Mental Health by Postpartum Support International (PSI)

Dr. Frieder will review principals of psychopharmacology in the perinatal period, the treatment of affective and psychotic disorders, and evidence about medication use while breastfeeding.

Participants will leave with and understanding of the risk of untreated psychiatric illness during pregnancy and postpartum, medication management in the perinatal period, and be able to discuss the decision making process for treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs)
