About the event

 Participants will:

· learn about the prevalence of maternal mental health disorders and the gaps that exist in diagnosis & treatment.

· Learn what health equity means and what the health equity initiatives are in Nassau County.

· Understand how to approach mental health care from a trauma informed care lens.

· Understand how to introduce trauma informed care in your workspace.

· Learn about resources available in Nassau County, Legislative Updates, and the Postpartum Resource Center of New York's "Take Care Of You Plan".

· How to access maternal health consultation services available through the NYS Office of Mental Health Project Teach.

 · Hear a personal story of how VNS Health- Nurse Family Partnership made an impact on a new mothers experience. 

** This Content has been approved for 3 Contact Hours of continiuing education for NYS licenced social workers, mental health counselors and psychologists. 

*** CASAC approved.
