About the event
Objectives:
1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the foundational principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and its application within the perinatal population in a clinical therapeutic setting.
2. Identify and assess the unique challenges and mental health disorders commonly encountered in perinatal clients, and apply appropriate risk management strategies to ensure client safety.
3. Acquire practical skills and techniques to integrate DBT principles into perinatal therapeutic interventions, promoting emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness in clients.
4. Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of parent-child bonding and attachment during the perinatal period, and implement strategies to support and strengthen these relationships within the therapeutic context.
5. Develop self-care strategies for clinicians working with perinatal clients to prevent burnout and enhance professional well-being, ensuring the provision of effective and sustainable care to clients and their families.
