What can I expect from this group?
Participants will :
Identify connections between emotional states, bodily experiences, and the transition to parenthood.
Utilize mindfulness and grounding techniques to manage stress, anxiety, and dysphoria during pregnancy or early parenting.
Explore and express identity and family roles through art and creative processes.
Use creativity and art to enhance psychological flexibility
Develop communication and co-parenting strategies that promote secure attachment and mutual support.
Identify and strengthen supportive community and family resources, including chosen family networks.
Increase awareness of how cultural, systemic, and social factors impact LGBTQIA+ families.
Build self-compassion and resilience in navigating societal stigma and heteronormative expectations.
