About the event
This training was created in celebration of pride month to help providers understand and support people of many identities with compassion and care.
This introductory course outlines parts of the LGBTQIA+ culture, commonly used terms, the importance of allyship & the important role of the mental health provider.
Participants will learn:
- Learn more about the LGBTQIA+ culture as well as key terms and acronyms.
- How to use inclusive language through pronouns & avoid misgendering.
- Learn more about allyship and how to be an ally in and outside of the office.
- Learn more about the role of the mental health provider in support of LGBTQIA+ clients.
