Chapter 56 of the Laws of 2021 amended Social Services Law § 413 to require additional training within the New York State Mandated Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Maltreatment/Neglect coursework. NY State Dept of Education has revised its syllabus for the Mandated Reporter training as of Sept. 1, 2025. The law requires every person who is required to take the Mandated Training related to child abuse, including those who have previously undergone this training, to complete the new updated training by November 17, 2026.
