Being pregnant and having a baby is "supposed to be" an exciting and beautiful time in one's life.  Whether the person expecting is you, your partner or your loved one you expect that it will be a time of joy.

If you have experienced or witnessed a stressful or terrifying event related to your pregnancy you may experience:

  • Nightmares

  • Flashbacks (feeling like you are reliving it)

  • Intense anxiety

  • Irritability or anger

  • Finding it hard to concentrate

  • Feeling numb

  • Difficulty Sleeping

  • Intrusive thoughts or memories

  • Feeling on edge or startling easily

  • Avoiding things that remind you of the experience

  • Uncomfortable or distressing physical sensations in your body

Some may think that the birth of a baby should "make up for" your traumatic experience.  We know that this experience can negatively affect you.  We understand the disappointment you are feeling.

We understand the loss, grief, and disappointment that can come with an unexpected outcome in pregnancy.  There are treatments available to help you to feel better.  You are not alone.
