Pauline Walfisch, LCSW-R
I have a Masters Degree in social work and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in NYS. This means that I had several years of practice supervised by more senior social workers before the state approved my license as a more senior social worker with clinical experience. Since then I have supervised, mentored and coached many social workers in a large academic hospital as they themselves worked towards their professional goals. I enjoy working with individuals and teams of professionals to set goals and develop new programs. I have had many local and national speaking engagements, including a segment on NBC Nightly News.
After years of personal and professional experience I found a passion in helping others with reproductive mental health issues. I provide individual and group psychotherapy- working with both the individual and as needed the couple. My practice specializes in (but is not limited to) the treatment of mental health issues related to pregnancy, the postpartum period, infertility, adoption and perinatal loss. I am a member of Resolve- the national infertility association, as well as the American Society for Reproductive Medicine- Mental Health Practitioners Group. I have completed the Postpartum Support International certificate training for the diagnosis and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I am on the executive advisory board for the Nassau County Department of Health Perinatal Services Network and I am chair of the maternal mental health work group.
