Helping Hands Psychotherapy

I earned my Master's in Social Work from Adelphi University and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State. My experience working at a women’s hospital and a community based mental health clinic, sparked my interest in medical and reproductive trauma.  I have realized that the experience of trauma is quite subjective and I have become passionate about helping others to process their own traumatic experiences.  My work has always focused on acknowledgement of the aspect of these traumas that are often sensitive, controversial and unspoken.  Through the use of narrative therapies and CBT based interventions, we will work to validate your experience and support processing through finding meaning and empowerment. 

 

I also have experience working with high-risk teens and their families in both individual and group based formats.  We focus on establishing a safe and non-judgmental space by learning how to better manage and communicate the intense emotions and experiences that come with adolescence.  

 

When life is stormy I truly believe we all have the innate ability to heal ourselves- especially with the right therapeutic fit and support. While it may feel like we need a life boat to come and save us- sometimes light and guidance from a lighthouse is all you need.
