Dr. ASHLEY J. DAVIS, phd, LMHC, LPC, NCC, CASAC-T, PMH-C

Ashley J. Davis has a Masters Degree in Professional Studies from St. John’s University as well as a Masters in Forensic Mental Health Counseling program from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY)and is Licensed in NYS as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and in New Jersey as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

 

Ashley is a warm and empathic clinician who works to provide her clients with an experience that leaves them feeling understood, validated and seen.  Her clinical approach helps clients to find their strengths, and use their growing understanding of themselves to gain awareness of the connections between their emotions, thoughts, physical experiences, and behaviors.  With this awareness comes the ability and strength to initiate the changes they would like to see in their own lives.  

 

Ashley is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Focused-CBT (TF-CBT).  She has experience  as an intake specialist and therapist working with children, teens, and adults with depression , anxiety and other mood related illnesses. She also has experience working with individuals with substance abuse challenges, and victims of crimes.  She has also worked as a clinical supervisor.

 

Ashley is passionate about women’s health and the impact of reproductive health on the individual's sense of self and the challenges of building families.  She advocates for policy reform and recently attended PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) Advocacy Day in Albany.

 

Ashley is always striving to enhance her skills and knowledge.  She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Credentialing Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor-in-Training (CASAC-T), and adjunct faculty member at Pace University. Ashley is also currently a second-year doctoral student at Pace University.  Ashley is currently a member of the New York Mental Health Counseling Association (NYMHCA), American Counseling Association (ACA) and National Association of Black Counselors (NABC). Ashley is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
